Breeze Women's Ride to the Saints Cafe, UppermillStart:the concrete benches outside the velodrome, facing the big concrete tube, Stuart Street, Manchester M11 4TE. 30 miles. The route is mostly canal towpath, initially along the Ashton Canal and then the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, with a smidge of road in between. The Ashton Canal gives us a lot of locks to climb up to get to Droylsden Marina where it flattens out again, before a couple of hump bridges brings us to Cavendish Mill where we'll leave this canal and cross the road to get onto the Huddersfield Narrow Canal behind Asda. From here there's a lot of locks to climb up as we head towards the Pennines. Book here. |
