A pootle through central Manchester to Deansgate, thence to Castlefield and a canal side traffic-free cycle to Salford's Media City. Here we will pause for refreshments where there are ample bars and also public outdoor space if you prefer to bring your own picnic. Returning past Ordsall Hall to central Manchester and back to our starting point. The meeting point is the customary Mackie Mayor gathering place on Great Ancoats Street (Eagle Street). Though the days are short, we do expect to be back before dusk but it would be a good idea to bring lights just in case.

Fri 25th10am joyridersJoyriders Women's rideStart : Chorlton Park car park, Nell Lane, Chorlton M21 7DJ. A relaxed paced ‘confidence building’ women’s ride suitable for anyone who has recently learnt to ride a bike or is returning to cycling. The route is from Chorlton Park to Alexandra Park all on quiet back streets including a stretch on the Fallowfield Loop. The whole ride is about 5 miles and refreshments will be at Coffee Cranks Cafe in Alexandra Park where there is indoor seating and toilets. All our rides have a leader and a backstop so are ideal for gaining confidence and we never leave anyone behind. Sun 27th10am letsride150.pngLets ride/British Cycling:Discovering-South ManchesterThe route takes us from one of Manchester's premier parks along the Fallowfield Loop M14 6LA through Chorlton to the River Mersey to the grade 2 listed Wythenshawe Hall and the statue of Oliver Cromwell. We then head back to the Mersey and head upstream to the Pyramid in Stockport, the route then takes us through three of the four Heatons. Following the edge of Highfield Country Park we arrive back at the Loop which we follow downhill back to our starting point at Platt Fields. Book here.
